Younger Skin this way! Understand our organic Aloe Retinol Serum

We all know the purposes and benefits of moisturisers, but facial serums can be a little more intimidating, can’t they?

They may seem pretty similar on the surface, but serums are really the powerhouse of any good skincare routine. Serums are formulated with higher concentrations of active ingredients and are made up of smaller molecules; thus, are able to penetrate more deeply into the skin than moisturising creams or lotions. Worthy of note here, is that because the Peachy Fox Anti-aging Aloe Retinol Serum is formulated with active, potent ingredients that can become unstable and lose efficacy if exposed to direct sunlight, it’s best stored in a cool, dark and dry place.

This serum has a lightweight gel consistency, and so is perfect for day time use as well as in the evenings. Formulated with marine collagen, this retinol serum works to slow the ageing process as they stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The addition of avocado oil, jojoba oil, rosehip oil, argan oil, green tea extract and arnica oil within this formula are all humectants, which means that they attract moisture to the skin and so effectively moisturise and hydrate the skin.

So, how do you incorporate this serum into your skincare routine? Traditionally, serums are water-based; ours is too, as the first ingredient listed on our serum is aqua, and so is best applied under moisturisers and creams. To ensure that your serum is penetrating as deeply as possible, make sure that you’ve thoroughly cleansed your skin before application; using an acid exfoliant will also ensure maximum absorption! You only need to apply a pea-sized amount to your face, but make sure that you’re patting and pressing the serum into your skin rather than rubbing it in as stretching or pulling the skin can cause the formation of wrinkles and fine lines.

After a lot of sun exposure this month, my skin was beginning to look parched and just generally very dehydrated. Serums are often a forgotten step in my skincare routine, so I was excited to start regularly using one again. Even after a week of using this serum in the evenings, I found that my skin didn’t look as sallow or feel as taut when I woke up in the mornings. I also found that I didn’t need to apply as much moisturiser after applying this product, which can only be a good thing!
